Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay
ایک محبت سو افسانے
Synopsis
Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay is an anthology of love stories authored by Ashfaq Ahmad — the philosopher, mystic, and writer whose work on PTV extended far beyond drama into an engagement with the spiritual and moral dimensions of Pakistani culture that was entirely his own. First produced in the 1970s and later revived in a new production in the late 1990s, the anthology drew on the full range of Ashfaq Ahmad's understanding of love — not as simple romantic feeling but as a force with moral weight, spiritual consequence, and the power to transform the people it touches. Each story in the series explored a different aspect of that understanding, from devotion to sacrifice to the particular kind of love that is inseparable from loss. Uzma Gillani was among the distinguished performers who brought these stories to the screen. The anthology stands as a significant document of Ashfaq Ahmad's long and extraordinary engagement with Pakistani storytelling.
