Synopsis
Ainak Wala Jin (1993–1996) was the most ambitious children's drama in the history of Pakistani television and, for an entire generation, the defining entertainment of childhood. Produced and directed by Arshad Mehmood for PTV, the series followed the magical adventures of Bill Batori, a mischievous djinn in spectacles, and the children who encountered him — weaving fantasy, comedy, and moral instruction into a format that proved entirely irresistible to its audience. The production was remarkable for its time, achieving a level of visual imagination and sustained narrative ambition that had not previously been attempted for young viewers on Pakistani television. It launched the careers of several child actors and created cultural reference points — catchphrases, characters, sequences — that remain in circulation in Pakistani popular consciousness more than thirty years later.
