Synopsis
Aahat (1991) was Haseena Moin's most socially direct drama — a seven-episode serial that engaged with the issue of family planning through the story of a young couple whose love and ambition are gradually overwhelmed by social pressure and the compulsive pursuit of a male heir. Directed by Sahira Kazmi, who was both a distinguished actress and a director of considerable sensitivity, the drama gave Sania Saeed her breakout role at the age of seventeen: a performance of such emotional maturity and physical conviction that it announced one of the finest acting careers in Pakistani television history.
