Biography

Kamal Ahmed Rizvi was a rare and complete talent: an actor of sharp comedic intelligence, a writer of considerable wit, and a man whose decades of work on PTV left an indelible mark on Pakistani popular culture. His portrayal of Allan in Alif Noon — opposite the equally gifted Rafi Khawar — created one of the most beloved comic partnerships in the history of Pakistani television. The series, written largely by Anwar Maqsood, gave Rizvi the material to demonstrate a range and precision that went far beyond the requirements of simple situation comedy. He continued working in theatre and television throughout his later years, remaining a respected presence in the performing arts until his death in 2011.
