Biography

Javed Sheikh has sustained one of the longest and most varied careers in Pakistani entertainment, beginning with his commanding presence in PTV's landmark dramas of the early 1980s. His role alongside Shehnaz Sheikh in Haseena Moin's Ankahi established him as a leading man of rare emotional depth. Over the following decades, he expanded successfully into Pakistani and Indian cinema, working with major production houses on both sides of the border. His son Sheheryar Munawar has followed him into the industry, making the Sheikhs something of a dynasty in Pakistani entertainment. Still active and as watchable as ever, Javed Sheikh is one of the few figures who has genuinely moved with the times while maintaining the standards he established at the very beginning.
